22 March 09, Shinsa and Training

Toyonaka Dojo 1-5pm

Shinsa

Two students from our dojo and one student from Kyoto took examinations for kyu ranks today. They all did a pretty good job. I helped out as kicking dummy during the kobo portion of the test.

Individual Practice

For the hour leading up to the shinsa I worked with one of the other instructors on some ideas for our spring training. We worked on some distance and targeting drills using both pads and human targets.

I also worked out a dynamic variation of my Taido dice game that works to create new combinations in real time while moving.
